People who support Obama and his administration commonly tell people that “why weren’t people outraged 10 years ago when we attacked Afghanistan?”. This is a way that Obama supporters tend to justify Obama’s illegal attack on Libya. Sorry, but two wrongs don’t make a right. Yes, I was outraged 10 years ago too. Especially after the USA PATRIOT Act was voted in as Law due to a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11. It was drafted by Joe Biden in 1997, but wasn’t called the USA PATRIOT Act at the time. People seem to forget that bit of information.

A bit of history for those who support Obama’s attack on Libya – the last true formal declaration of war was our entrance into WWII (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_war_by_the_United_States#Formal). Afghanistan did not meet the criteria of a formal declaration of war. Neither did Iraq. Neither does Libya or Pakistan.

Speaking of the Constitution, when does Obama plan to adhere to his Oath as President:

“Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:–”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”" (Article 2, Section 1)

If he followed the Constitution, he would need to have many people arrested for counterfeiting – the Federal Reserve and all of it’s members:

“To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States” (Article 1, Section 8 )

He also needs to be arrested and charged with high treason and impeached because he has served an entity other than the United States while performing his duties as the President of the United States (source: http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/politics/NATLObama-to-Chair-UN-Security-Council-58022432.html) (Article 2, Section 4) (Article 1, Section 9)

When will this madness end? January 20th, 2013.

Both of Michigan’s U.S. Senators (Stabenow and Levin) voted “Nay” against an amendment proposed to audit the Federal Reserve. This vote falls right in line with Levin’s “Yea” vote for the bank bailouts. The amendment would have at least put some transparency into the Federal Reserve. The Senator Dodd bill (Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010) it would be attached to intends to extend the power of the Federal Reserve (not good). Of course, Stabenow has put quite a spin on how Dodd’s bill will ”protect consumers”:

“This bill creates a new, independent agency with broad authority to monitor banks, credit card companies and other Wall Street firms for abusive practices – and intervene when necessary to protect consumers.”

What Stabenow and Levin don’t seem to understand is how the Federal Reserve was the problem to begin with. If you read Dodd’s bill, you will see for yourself that the Federal Reserve will be a significant part of this ”independent agency” (page 12 out of 1566). The same “independent agency” that was responsible for disbursing the bailout funds…but won’t show you HOW they were disbursed.

When I am elected, not only will I vote for and/or propose a bill auditing the Federal Reserve, I will vote for and/or propose a bill to END the Federal Reserve.

After reading the first 38 pages out of this 1410 page bill, I am disgusted that it gives even more over-reaching, unregulated power and unfettered access to banking information to the Federal Reserve. Not only does it allow them to watch over banks, but also Credit Unions and “Nonbank Financial Institutions”. I’m still reading, but it’s not likely to get any better.

The short title of the bill: “Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010″ created by Chris Dodd (D-Conn.). It does about as much “restoring” financial stability as the USA PATRIOT Act did for patriotism. The bill also creates amendments to the following Acts to allow more “oversight” (i.e. snooping):
